What is a Tweet Chat?

A Tweet Chat is a group discussion that gives us the opportunity to talk about important issues with one another across the globe.  In addition to allowing us to explore important issues, these chats let us form and maintain relationships with our colleagues between national meetings.  The chats are organized by the use of hashtags to make the discussion easy to follow among the vast world of Twitter.

The moderator poses questions (designated with Q1, Q2, etc) to prompt responses from the participants (designated with A1, A2, etc).  And all questions/comments should include the hashtag “#AJNR” to indicate that they are part of the discussion.

Our monthly tweetchats take place on Tuesdays (typically the second Tuesday of each month) at 3pm Eastern (12pm Pacific), with the exact schedule of the upcoming Chats always available on our site.

There are many tools you can use to participate in the Tweet Chats beyond just using Twitter’s built in search.  The benefits of these third party tools is that (1) they update real-time with new Tweets immediately as they are posted, and (2) they automatically include the Chat’s hashtag in each of your Tweets.  One of my favorites is tchat.io.

If you have any questions, please post them below.  We look forward to you joining us for our next Tweet Chat!
