What is a TweetUp? – The ASNR 2015 TweetUp

“TweetUp” is a blend of tweet and meetup. According to the urbandictionary.com, a TweetUp is “an organized or impromptu gathering of people that use Twitter. “ It is simply any event where people who tweet come together to meet in person. It is a great opportunity to establish real connections with the people that you have “met” on Twitter. It is the best opportunity to turn your virtual world network into a real world network.

The ASNR 2015 TweetUp will be Monday, April 27, 6:30 pm at Timothy O’Toole ‘s Pub in Chicago which is within walking distance from the #ASNR15 venue (Click here for more information about the location). A semi-private pool table area has been reserved for our group. We look forward to seeing you there.

It is recommended that you use a name-tag during the TweetUp. The name-tag would ideally include both your twitter handle and your real name. At minimum, please wear your meeting name-tag.

A TweetUp does not necessarily consist of avid tweeters. Regardless of how active you are on Twitter, you are still part of the community. If you are attending the ASNR meeting and you use Twitter, or you are simply curious about the professional use of social media, you are welcome to this TweetUp. Just show up, and meet some wonderful people.

If you have any logistic question regarding the ASNR 2015 TweetUp, find me during the meeting, or email me at alireza.radmanesh@ucsf.edu or reach me via Twitter @AliRadmanMD.  You can also ask the ASNR Twitter community by typing the hashtag #ASNR15 with your questions on Twitter. See you soon!
